What’s This TV Show About?

A Netflix neo-noir “social thriller” anthology, the first season of What/If stars Renée Zellweger, Jane Levy, Blake Jenner, Keith Powers, Samantha Ware, Juan Castrano, Dave Annable, Saamer Usmani, Daniella Pineda, John Clarence, and Louis Herthum. Centering on San Francisco venture capitalist Anne Montgomery (Zellweger), who makes a suspicious offer to struggling newlyweds Lisa Ruiz-Donovan (Levy) and Sean Donovan (Jenner), the drama explores what happens when acceptable people do the unacceptable.
 

 

Telly’s Take

Unless they decide to publicize viewership, it is difficult to predict whether Netflix will cancel or renew What/If for season two. Usually, if Netflix is going to renew a series, they usually pick up the new season within a month or so of the release date. With an anthology, Netflix will have take into consideration the new cast and potential storyline, before making their call.
