Wheel of Fortune could say goodbye to more than just Pat Sajak. Days after the longtime host announced his retirement following the upcoming 41st season, rumors began that co-host Vanna White might also exit the series.
Puck News reports that White’s role as letter-turner could be eliminated if a big enough name fills Sajak’s role. Ryan Seacrest is one possible replacement and some viewers have been campaigning for White to take over the position. Dancing with the Stars vet Tom Bergeron recently said he is not interested in the job. He joked, “No thanks… I’ve developed an aversion to wearing suits.”
Sources say there is no plan to let White go, but her contract is currently being renegotiated.
Sajak and White have hosted the syndicated series together since 1981, and the pair also host Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, which is entering its fourth season on ABC. A search for a new host is now underway.
