World of Dance: Season Two Ratings

World of Dance TV show on NBC: season 2 ratings (canceled or renewed season 3?)

Fans of the World of Dance TV show on NBC, shouldn’t have to worry about it being cancelled anytime too soon. During its freshman outing, it earned pretty strong ratings for an unscripted, summertime TV series and received an early second season renewal. Then, a few weeks ahead of its sophomore premiere, NBC renewed World of Dance for season three. Last year, the reality TV series ranked third in terms of both its demo ratings and total viewership, right behind the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of America’s Got Talent, so the Peacock Network’s enthusiasm is understandable. How long will it continue? Will World of Dance be cancelled or renewed beyond its third season? Stay tuned.

An NBC dance competition series, World of Dance is hosted by Jenna Dewan, who also serves as a mentor to the dancers. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, and Ne-Yo judge the performances. The series showcases dancers competing for a grand prize of $1,000,000. Elite solo dancers, partners, and full dance crews compete against each other in multiple categories of dance, including hip-hop, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom dancing, and stomping.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
