While the Young Sheldon TV show didn’t beat out its parent-series, The Big Bang Theory, in the Nielsen ratings race, it was still a top-three performer during its freshman year on CBS. Now that the prequel is back for a second season, which coincides with Big Bang‘s final outing, can it pull in an even larger audience? Will Young Sheldon be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A CBS single-camera comedy, Young Sheldon stars Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, and Raegan Revord, with Jim Parsons narrating. Season two of the sitcom unfolds in 1990 and centers on Sheldon Cooper (Armitage), as a 10-year-old boy. Surviving childhood in an East Texas outpost — one dedicated to all things faith and football — is no mean feat for this unique genius and his otherwise ordinary family.
