Young Sheldon is ending on CBS with its seventh season, but viewers will likely see more from the world of Sheldon Cooper’s family. A spin-off is nearing a series order on the network.

The spin-off would focus on Sheldon’s older brother, George (Montana Jordan), and his wife, Mandy (Emily Osment). On Young Sheldon, George dropped out of high school to work full-time and found that he has a talent for sales, setting up the character’s path to owning a chain of successful tire stores by the time the character is seen as an adult, played by Jerry O’Connell, on The Big Bang Theory.

George and Mandy met during season five of Young Sheldon when he was 17 (he lied and told her he was 21) and she was 29. They became engaged during the sixth season finale after the birth of their baby.

Per Deadline, the series is closing on a straight-to-series order on the network. Steve Holland, Steven Molaro, Chuck Lorre, and studio Warner Bros Television are behind the series.

The following was revealed about the possible spin-off:

“I hear deals with Jordan and Osment are still being worked out but the duo are expected to reprise their roles in the spinoff, which is poised to get a 13-episode order for the 2024-25 season.”

There’s no word on whether other characters from Young Sheldon would continue on with the spin-off or if O’Connell would be involved as a potential narrator.

By the time we see George on Big Bang, he’s been married and divorced twice, but how long the character was married to Mandy is unclear.

The series finale for Young Sheldon will air on May 16th.

What do you think? Do you enjoy Young Sheldon? Do you want to see a spin-off revolving around George and Mandy? Would you like to see other family members on the show?
