America’s Funniest Home Videos: Renewed for Season 27 for 2016-17

America's Funniest Home Videos TV show on ABC: season 27 renewedWhen Tom Bergeron left as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, many suspected that the venerable show might be headed for cancellation. Not so. Alfonso Ribeiro will soon be hosting his second season in the fall when the series returns for its 27th season.

Here’s part of the network’s press release about the renewal:

“AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS” (Season 27)

“America’s Funniest Home Videos,” the longest-running primetime entertainment show in ABC history, returns for season 27 with the same mission – to provide viewers with hysterical moments that fly by at a dizzying pace. These real-life blunders are fun for everyone, from viewers age four to one hundred and four. “AFV,” the show that invented the viral video, continues to be a Sunday night tradition for millions of families from coast to coast. Hosted by actor and “Dancing with the Stars” champion Alfonso Ribeiro, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” has given away over $14 million in prize money and evaluated more than a million video clips from home viewers.

Vin Di Bona and Michele Nasraway serve as executive producers. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” is produced by Vin Di Bona Productions.

ABC has also renewed: The Bachelor, Black-ishDancing with the Stars, Fresh Off the Boat, The Goldbergs, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, The Middle, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, Scandal, Shark Tank, and Quantico.
