What’s This TV Show About?
An HBO comedy drama, Ballers stars Dwayne Johnson, Omar Benson Miller, Donovan Carter, Troy Garity, Jazmyn Simon, London Brown, Arielle Kebbel, Dulé Hill, Richard Schiff and Andy Garcia. The TV series centers on former superstar Spencer Strasmore (Johnson), who has re-invented himself as a financial adviser in Miami, taking on young phenoms and veteran superstars alike. Spencer’s role in his clients’ lives far exceeds money management as he struggles to help them navigate the many pitfalls that come with life in the spotlight.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Ballers averaged a 0.94 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.99 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s up by 65% and up by 69%, respectively. Learn how Ballers stacks up against the other HBO TV shows.
On August 8, 2017 Ballers was renewed for a fourth season which will debut August 12, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although its ratings fell in the second season, Ballers was still a top five performer for HBO. Season four got off to a great start, in part because of its Game of Thrones lead-in. However, it’s still a bit too early in the season to predict if HBO will cancel or renew Ballers for season four, so I’ll keep an eye on the ratings and update this page from time to time.
