HBO RENEWS BALLERS AND INSECURE

With both series seeing record viewership this season, HBO has renewed the comedy series BALLERS for a fourth season and INSECURE for a third season, it was announced today by Amy Gravitt, executive vice president, HBO Programming.

“We’re thrilled that the summer lineup of BALLERS and INSECURE connected with our viewers out of the gate,” said Gravitt. “We’re so proud to work with Dwayne, Issa and all of the amazing talent in both shows.” Looking at the whirlwind lifestyles and real-life problems of former and current football players, BALLERS stars Dwayne Johnson as ex-superstar Spencer Strasmore, who has reinvented himself as a financial manager for today’s players in sun-soaked Miami. Created by Stephen Levinson (HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”), the hit comedy series returned for its ten-episode third season Sunday, July 23 (10:00–10:30 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.

Other cast regulars for the current season include: Rob Corddry, John David Washington, Omar Benson Miller, Donovan Carter, Troy Garity, London Brown, Jazmyn Simon and Dulé Hill.

Season three credits: BALLERS was created by Stephen Levinson; executive produced by Stephen Levinson, Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Peter Berg, Evan Reilly, Rob Weiss, Julian Farino, Denis Biggs, Karyn McCarthy.

Ballers: A Look at the Ratings

The third season of Ballers is currently averaging a 1.20 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.45 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s up by 110% and up by 108%, respectively. Amongst the HBO TV shows we’re tracking, it ranks second (behind Game of Thrones, of course) in terms of demo numbers and third in terms of total audience size.

HBO also renewed Insecure for a third season, today. Details here.
