What’s This TV Show About?

Airing on the NBC television network, Chicago Med stars Nick Gehlfuss, Torrey DeVitto, Colin Donnell, Norma Kuhling, Oliver Platt, Rachel DiPillo, Brian Tee, S. Epatha Merkerson, Yaya DaCosta, Marlyne Barrett, and Norma Kuhling. Mekia Cox and Roland Buck III guest star in season three. The story follows the doctors, nurses, and staff of the state of the art Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. As a team, they rise to the Windy City’s most urgent medical challenges while working through confounding ethical quandaries. The series also features crossovers with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.
 

Season Three Ratings

Telly’s Take

While the ratings dropped last year, this medical drama was still a top performer for NBC during the 2016-17 television season, so it is no surprise it is back for another installment.  I don’t expect a cancellation this time around, unless something terrible comes out of the blue. Because it is now in its third season, Chicago Med finds itself at that time in a show’s life when the executives’ minds turn to the prospect of a profitable syndication package, and a higher episode count will help its resale value.
