Guess who is going full time at the BAU. Aisha Tyler has been promoted to series regular in the upcoming 12th season of the Criminal Minds TV show on CBS. Tyler began recurring as forensic psychologist Dr. Tara Lewis in Criminal Minds, in the season 11 premiere. She also hosts The CW‘s improv comedy show, Whose Line is It Anyway?. Tyler’s TV breakout was as Charlie Wheeler, Ross and Joey’s love interest, in the final two seasons of Friends on NBC.
Tyler joins the returning Paget Brewster, as well as CSI: Miami veteran Adam Rodriguez, who has been cast in the series regular role of Luke Alvez. His character is a former Army ranger CBS describes as, “…an excellent tracker the BAU recruits from the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force.” The Criminal Minds TV series cast also includes Matthew Gray Gubler, Kristen Vangsness, A.J. Cook, and Joe Mantegna. Shemar Moore left Criminal Minds after season 11. Thomas Gibson was fired after season 12 began production.
