Lisette Olivera (above, left) has yet to make her first appearance as a regular on the FBI series, but her exit from the CBS procedural drama has already been revealed. Her casting was announced over the summer along with the departure of Katherine Renee Kane, aka Special Agent Tiffany Wallace.
Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana De La Garza, and John Boyd star in the series, which follows those who work at the New York City office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Olivera joins the cast as a series regular, playing Syd Ortiz, Agent Stuart Scola’s new partner. Her character was described this way:
Syd is a trained Behavioral Analysis Unit Agent who is about to rotate into the field. Even though Syd’s work experience has been as a desk agent, there are layers to her personality and resume that will allow her to hit the streets as a field agent seamlessly, production sources reveal.
Olivera’s first appearance is set for the November 12th episode and will be seen on the CBS drama for a few more installments.
According to Deadline, Olivera’s short tenure is not due to her talent but “stems from how the character fits into the show.” At only 25, it’s felt that the actress plays too young to be considered an FBI agent.
FBI currently airs on Tuesday nights on CBS.
