Lucifer: Season Three Ratings

Lucifer TV show on FOX: season 3 ratings (cancel renew season 4?)

Despite a wicked drop in the ratings last year, FOX renewed its Lucifer TV show for a third season. Give the devil his due, though. Decline aside, the supernatural police procedural remained a top-10 ratings earner for the network. Can it hold on, come hell or high water? Will Lucifer be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. **6/15/2018: See update below.

A comedy drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The FOX TV series centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

5/29 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparisons: The second season of Lucifer averaged a 1.04 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.654 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
