What’s This TV Show About?

A Netflix romantic comedy-drama, On My Block stars Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Diego Tinoco, and Jessica Marie Garcia. The coming-of-age series, from creators Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, and Jeremy Haft, centers on four friends. Cesar Diaz (Tinoco), Ruby Martinez (Genao), Monse Finnie (Capri) and Jamal Turner (Gray) are bright, streetwise high school kids, in L.A.’s South Central neighborhood. Throughout the journey, they lean on each other, but also find their friendship tried and tested.

Unless they decide to publicize viewership statistics, it is difficult to predict whether Netflix will cancel or renew On My Block for season three. Very few scripted Netflix series survive to see a third season so that’s not a good sign. I’ll keep an eye on the trades and an ear to the ground and will update this page with breaking developments.
