What’s This TV Show About?
A Netflix romantic comedy-drama, On My Block stars Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Diego Tinoco, Jessica Marie Garcia, and Ronni Hawk. The coming-of-age series, from creators Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, and Jeremy Haft, centers on four friends. Cesar Diaz (Tinoco), Ruby Martinez (Genao), Monse Finnie (Capri) and Jamal Turner (Gray) are bright, streetwise kids who are trying to acclimate themselves to their tough, new high school, in L.A.’s South Central neighborhood. Throughout the journey, they lean on each other, but also find their friendship tried and tested.
On My Block was renewed for a second season which will debut March 29, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize viewership statistics, it is difficult to predict whether Netflix will cancel or renew On My Block for season two. I don’t have a strong feeling about this one either way, but flying blind, I think it will snag a second season renewal.
