Schooled: Season Two; ABC Renews Goldbergs Spin-off for 2019-20

(ABC/Byron Cohen)

ABC thinks that the Schooled comedy show is ready for a sophomore year. The alphabet network has renewed the mid-season series for a second season and will return as part of the 2019-20 television season.

A sitcom set in the 1990s, Schooled stars AJ Michalka, Tim Meadows, Bryan Callen, and Brett Dier. The series follows Lainey Lewis (Michalka) and the faculty of William Penn Academy. Although Lainey once matriculated there, she’s taking a detour from the pursuit of rock stardom and has returned to teach music. Even though Lainey her co-workers are riddled with quirks and personal problems of their own, the students look up to them as everyday heroes.

The first season of Schooled is averaging a 0.97 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.94 million viewers. Find out how Schooled stacks up against other ABC TV shows.

A spin-off of The Goldbergs, Schooled is a middle-of-the-road performer for ABC. Of the network’s 2018-19 scripted TV shows, Schooled ranks sixth (out of 21 shows) in the demo and 11th in viewership.
