Faster than a speeding bullet, Smallville vet, Tom Welling, is headed to the Tiffany network. EW has confirmed CBS is developing the drama Section 13, starring Welling. Welling will also executive produce with Carla Kettner, who is attached as writer.
After Smallville was cancelled (or ended, depending on your perspective), Welling has primarily worked in film. Kettner wrote and produced the FOX TV series, Bones, between 2007 and 2011. She also served as E.P. on The Mob Doctor, which was cancelled by FOX after 13 episodes.
EW says, “[Section 13] focuses on a CIA black ops officer-turned-private contractor (Welling) who, in the wake of a personal tragedy, joins a covert organization devoted to carrying out the most difficult high-stakes assignments.”
