Suits: Season Eight Ratings

Last season, the ratings for the Suits TV show dropped some, but it was still a top-three ratings earner for USA Network, in both the demo and total audience size. Now it’s back for an eighth season, but Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle have departed for greener pastures (and palaces). How will the cast changes affect the Nielsen numbers? Will Suits be cancelled or renewed for season nine? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

A USA legal drama, Suits stars Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull, and Katherine Heigl. After surviving leadership turmoil and the loss of key partners, Harvey Specter (Macht), Louis Litt (Hoffman), and secretary-turned-COO Donna Paulsen (Rafferty) continue to take on big corporate cases, along with Alex Williams (Hill) and Katrina Bennett (Schull). Attorney Samantha Wheeler (Heigl) also joins Specter Litt to fill the void and challenge them to change things up.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The seventh season of Suits averaged a 0.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.303 million viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
