Supergirl ended its first season on CBS tonight, and now the fans wait for word on the fate of the superhero series. Reports have it likely to be renewed for a second season.
An official renewal has not stopped people from expressing their interest in appearing in the second season. Lynda Carter is set for a possible season two appearance, and now John Schneider has expressed his interest in appearing next season.
He co-starred for many seasons on Smallville, which starred Tom Welling. He is willing to come to the CBS as Jonathan Kent or some other character. He made that reveal while he was out promoting his latest television movie.
According to Zap2it, he said the following:
“I like to do different things. I guess I couldn’t come back — well, it’s superheroes, so I don’t know if I could come back as Jonathan Kent or not. But I would love to. The more experience I can get under my belt, the more varied the roles I get to play, the better I am at whatever it is I’m doing.”
He might even consider playing a villain for the series. His last few roles have been villains. Laura Vandervoort also appeared on Smallville, and she now appears on Supergirl as a villain.
When Supergirl first premiered, there were rumors that Tom Welling would take on the role of Clark Kent for the series, but the actor squashed those rumors. That makes Schneider’s appearance as Jonathan Kent on Supergirl unlikely, but there is a lot that can be done with him.
