canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Supergirl: John Schneider Would Love to Appear in Season Two

by Regina Avalos, April 18, 2016

Smallville

Supergirl ended its first season on CBS tonight, and now the fans wait for word on the fate of the superhero series. Reports have it likely to be renewed for a second season.

An official renewal has not stopped people from expressing their interest in appearing in the second season. Lynda Carter is set for a possible season two appearance, and now John Schneider has expressed his interest in appearing next season.

He co-starred for many seasons on Smallville, which starred Tom Welling. He is willing to come to the CBS as Jonathan Kent or some other character. He made that reveal while he was out promoting his latest television movie.

According to Zap2it, he said the following:

“I like to do different things. I guess I couldn’t come back — well, it’s superheroes, so I don’t know if I could come back as Jonathan Kent or not. But I would love to. The more experience I can get under my belt, the more varied the roles I get to play, the better I am at whatever it is I’m doing.”

He might even consider playing a villain for the series. His last few roles have been villains. Laura Vandervoort also appeared on Smallville, and she now appears on Supergirl as a villain.

When Supergirl first premiered, there were rumors that Tom Welling would take on the role of Clark Kent for the series, but the actor squashed those rumors. That makes Schneider’s appearance as Jonathan Kent on Supergirl unlikely, but there is a lot that can be done with him.

Would you like to see John Schneider pop up on Supergirl? Tell us what you think.

Oh that would be so awesome, if Schneider would reprise his Johnathan for Supergirl. He is absolutely the BEST Johnathan Kent ever, the gentleman owned the character!! A Welling, Schneider, O’toole reunion in Supergirl would be a dream come true.

Given the writers of supergirl, flash and arrow are very adamant about the multiverse there is no reason any of the smallville characters couldn’t return on supergirl. as a matter of fact despite the new casting of supergirl i think it would be awesome for them to do so as earth 2 or earth 3 doppelgangers. they could explain supergirl’s different appearance any way they choose since sometimes she’s not even supergirl, she’s powergirl or whatever in other universes. i love the idea of bringing back the universe that existed for ten years and had a huge fan devotion.

Schneidder was not in 10 seasons of Smallville, he died in season 5 episode 12. He only made a couple of guest appearances on Smallville after that.

Absolutely, why not. It’s great to see the nod to the Superman shows of the past with Dean Cain, you should find a place for Teri Hatcher to pop in as well, or Margot Kidder. Why wouldn’t you capitalize on it, it’d boost ratings if anything . The younger crowd may have no idea who they are, but the fans, we know.
