What’s This TV Show About?

A Syfy horror western, Wynonna Earp stars Melanie Scrofano in the title role. Shamier Anderson, Tim Rozon, and Dominique Provost-Chalkley also star. The Syfy recurring cast includes Katherine Barrell, Michael Eklund, Tamara Duarte, Greg Lawson, and Natascha Girgis. Based on the Beau Smith comic, the series follows lawman Wyatt Earp’s demon-fighting great-great-granddaughter, who inherited his abilities, as well as his legendary gun. As a special agent of the US Marshals’ secret Black Badge Division, Wynonna works with her younger sister, Waverly (Provost-Chalkley), Agent Xavier Dolls (Anderson), Doc Holliday (Rozon), and officer Nicole Haught (Barrell) to end to the Earp curse, for good.  
 

Season Two Ratings

The second season of Wynonna Earp averaged a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 505,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 4% and down by 10%, respectively. Find out how Wynonna Earp stacks up against the other Syfy TV shows.
 

 

Telly’s Take

Although the second season premiered with poor numbers, it’s still too early to use the ratings to predict whether Wynonna Earp will be cancelled or renewed for a third season on Syfy. So, let’s look at what we do know. Although the first season of the Wynonna Earp TV show didn’t earn great demo ratings, it did draw reasonable total audience for this small cable channel and was renewed for season two. The series also airs on Canada’s Space channel, which helps defray some of the cost. It will be interesting to see if Syfy can still build its audience in the second season.
