AP Bio: Season Two Ratings

AP BIO TV show on NBC: season 2 ratings (canceled or renewed season 3?); A.P. Bio

During its freshman year, the AP Bio TV show on NBC wasn’t anywhere near the top of its Nielsen ratings class, but it managed to keep its head down and gut out a sophomore installment. Now that the sitcom is back for its second season, does it have what it takes to make some gains, or will it fall to the bottom of the class? Will AP Bio be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

An NBC workplace comedy, AP Bio stars Glenn Howerton, Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Jean Villepique, and Paula Pell. After being denied tenure at Harvard, award-winning philosophy scholar Jack Griffin (Howerton) returned home to Toledo, Ohio to lick his wounds. Now, he teaches Advanced Placement biology at Whitlock High, where he convinces his students to do his dirty work for him.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

6/14 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.

For comparisons: The first season of AP Bio on NBC averaged a 0.72 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic and 2.65 million viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
