It’s difficult to imagine that the Dateline NBC TV show would be cancelled anytime soon. It’s relatively inexpensive to produce, does pretty well in the ratings, makes money for the company in syndication, and can be used to fill in gaps in the NBC schedule. A newsmagazine, the Dateline NBC TV show is the longest-running series in the network’s primetime history. Debuting in 1992, the program covers stories ranging from mysteries to documentaries and in-depth investigations. Anchor Lester Holt is joined by correspondents like Andrea Canning, Josh Mankiewicz, Keith Morrison, and Dennis Murphy.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances of survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: On Fridays, season 30 of Dateline NBC on NBC averaged a 0.36 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.89 million viewers. On Sundays, season 29 of Dateline averaged a 0.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.87 million viewers.

While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a good indicator of how a show performs, especially when compared to others on the same channel.
