Grey’s Anatomy: Season 13 Ordered by ABC

Grey’s Anatomy will return for its thirteenth season next fall. ABC has renewed Grey’s Anatomy and several other series on the network today. The medical drama is currently ABC’s series with the most viewers, according to the ratings.

Grey’s Anatomy has been a part of ABC’s Thursday night line-up for several seasons. The current season has been a reboot of the series with the death of Derek Shepherd and the impact it had on all those that knew him being a focus of the drama.

ABC revealed more about its decision to renew Grey’s Anatomy in a press release. Read that below.

ABC’s hit drama “Grey’s Anatomy” has been a television staple for over a decade, and the series is set to return this fall for its 13th season. Created and executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers (“Scandal,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” “The Catch”), the show follows Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and the team of doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial. Faced with life-or-death decisions on a daily basis, they seek comfort from one another, and at times more than just friendship. Together they discover that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white.

“Grey’s Anatomy” stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber, Sara Ramirez as Callie Torres, Kevin McKidd as Owen Hunt, Jessica Capshaw as Arizona Robbins, Jesse Williams as Jackson Avery, Sarah Drew as April Kepner, Caterina Scorsone as Amelia Shepherd, Camilla Luddington as Jo Wilson, Jerrika Hinton as Stephanie Edwards, Kelly McCreary as Maggie Pierce, Jason George as Ben Warren, Martin Henderson as Nathan Riggs and Giacomo Gianniotti as Andrew DeLuca.

“Grey’s Anatomy” was created and is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes (“Scandal,” “How to Get Away with Murder”). Betsy Beers (“Scandal,” “How to Get Away with Murder”), Mark Gordon (“Saving Private Ryan”), Rob Corn (“Chicago Hope”), William Harper, Stacy McKee, Zoanne Clack and Debbie Allen serve as executive producers. “Grey’s Anatomy” is produced by ABC Studios.
