Roswell, New Mexico: Season Two; The CW Renews Reboot Series for 2019-20

Roswell, New Mexico TV show on The CW: season 2 renewal for the 2019-20 TV season The ratings weren’t “out of this world” but The CW isn’t sending the aliens home just yet. The smallest network has renewed their Roswell, New Mexico TV show for a second season.

A science fiction drama, Roswell, New Mexico Jeanine Mason, Nathan Dean Parsons, Lily Cowles, Michael Vlamis, Michael Trevino, Tyler Blackburn, Heather Hemmens, Trevor St. John, and Karan Oberoi. Based on the Roswell High book series (which was also the basis for a 1999 TV series), this series centers on Liz Ortecho (Mason), who’s back in town after a decade away. After reconnecting with her old crush, Roswell PD Officer Max Evans (Parsons), she learns he, his sister Isobel (Cowles) and their friend, Michael (Vlamis), are aliens. Now Liz has to keep this secret from everyone she knows, including her old high school boyfriend, Dr. Kyle Valenti (Trevino), and her best friend, Maria De Luca (Hemmens). Meanwhile, the politics of hatred, fear, and division threaten to expose them all and risk everyone’s lives.  

The first season of Roswell, New Mexico averaged a 0.28 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.06 million viewers. Season one concluded on April 23rd.

Today, the network also renewed In the Dark (season two), All American (season two), and The 100 (season seven) for the 2019-20 season. They join previously renewed series Arrow (eighth and final season), Charmed (season two), Black Lightning (season three), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (season five), Dynasty (season three), The Flash (season six), Legacies (season two), Riverdale (season four), Supergirl (season five), and Supernatural (15th and final season).

“As we begin to plan for the 2019-2020 season, we’re thrilled to have this roster of 14 exceptionally creative and distinctive series, including all five first year shows, as the foundation on which to continue to build the multiplatform future of The CW,” said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. “One of our key long-term goals has been to continually add more original programming all year round, especially in midseason and summer, and with these returning shows and the new series we’ll order as we get closer to the May upfront, next season on The CW is shaping up to be our most robust year round schedule yet.”
