Three Women has a new home. Starz has picked up the drama following Showtime’s cancellation, per THR. Episodes had already been filmed when Showtime decided to shelve the series last month.
When Paramount Global’s Chris McCarthy took over the reins at Showtime and other channels, he announced plans to focus on turning the channel’s popular shows into global franchises. Several underperforming shows were dropped. The channel will become Paramount+ With Showtime and this week announced new series related to Dexter and Billions are in the works.
Starring Shailene Woodley, DeWanda Wise, Betty Gilpin, Gabrielle Creevy, Blair Underwood, and John Patrick Amedori, the Three Women series is based on the book by Lisa Taddeo. The series tells the story of a group of women looking to radically change their lives.
Three Women is not the only series Starz has rescued in recent months. The cable channel also saved Minx after it was cancelled by HBO Max just days before production on its second season had wrapped.
A premiere date for Three Women will be announced later.
