What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on Syfy, Van Helsing stars Kelly Overton, Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, David Cubitt, Vincent Gale, Rukiya Bernard, Trezzo Mahoro, Tim Guinee, Laura Mennell, Paul Johansson, Aleks Paunovic, and Hilary Jardine. Vanessa or “Van” Helsing awoke from a coma to find vampires have overtaken the world. Since she has a unique blood composition which makes her immune to vampires and allows her to turn them into humans, this vampire hunter is their prime target. In Van Helsing, season two, Van and the other survivors realize that old alliances have fallen apart. Meanwhile, new contacts are revealing secrets about The Rising, the Van Helsing legacy, and the very fate of mankind.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Van Helsing is averaging a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 428,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 26% and down by 36%, respectively. Find out how Van Helsing stacks up against the other Syfy TV shows.
On December 19, 2017, Van Helsing was renewed for a third season which will debut October 5, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
The second season premiere of Van Helsing was way down. The series is no longer a top show for Syfy and has landed in the middle of the pack. My gut tells me it will be renewed for a third season but it’s not a shoe-in. I’ll keep an eye on the ratings and will keep you posted.
