Since The Middle ended last spring with nine seasons, Modern Family and The Goldbergs are growing long in the tooth, and the cancelled Roseanne comeback has been retooled as The Conners spin-off, ABC is in search of its next, big humorous hit. Enter the Single Parents TV show. Does it have the stuff to bring in viewers and earn big Nielsen ratings for the Alphabet Network? Will Single Parents be cancelled or renewed for season two? ABC sitcom, Single Parents stars Taran Killam, Leighton Meester, Kimrie Lewis, Jake Choi, Marlow Barkley, Tyler Wladis, Devin Trey Campbell, Mia Allan, Ella Allan, and Brad Garrett. The ensemble comedy centers on Will Cooper (Killam), a single father in his 30s, who is sorely in need of a life apart from raising his daughter, Sophie (Barkley). When the other parents realize how far out of touch he is with his own identity, they team up to help him come into his own.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
