Now, FX is making it the focus of the first season of their new American Crime Story TV show. Will people feel compelled to watch a recreation of the trial? Will the show be a hit or a flop? American Crime Story: The People v OJ Simpson is based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v OJ Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin. A retired American football player/football commentator/actor, Orenthal “OJ” Simpson (Cuba Gooding) is accused of murdering his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson (Kelly Dowdle) and her friend, Ronald Goldman (Jake Koeppl). The series is told from the perspective of Simpson’s legal team. The cast also includes John Travolta, David Schwimmer, Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance, Nathan Lane, Evan Handler, Dale Godboldo, Rob Morrow, Kenneth Choi, and Bruce Greenwood.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
