the forgotten: Petition to Continue the ABC TV Series

the forgottenThis new Christian Slater drama follows a group of civilians who donate their time to help identify murder victims and solve their cases. Unfortunately, the forgotten isn’t catching on and the show looks like its going to end up being cancelled — and forgotten — by ABC.

What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for ABC is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Downloading, viewing online, or watching a recording many days later is all very nice but it really doesn’t help a show’s ratings.

If you like the forgotten and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.

  1. Watch the show each week, preferably live, and encourage others to do the same. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.
  1. Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re emotionally invested in gets people interested.
  1. Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.
  1. Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. You can use this form or, even better, write via “snail-mail” to: Mr. Stephen McPherson, Chairman, ABC, 500 S. Buena Vista Street, Burbank, CA 91521, RE: the forgotten
  1. Take note of the products that you see advertised consistently during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

We, the undersigned, greatly enjoy watching the new the forgotten TV show on the ABC network. It is a gripping drama that keeps us on the edge of our seats. It’s a great medical show with lots of action, interesting stories, and interesting characters.

Please find a way to keep the forgotten on the air. We are devoted viewers who will continue to watch the program, encourage others to do the same, and will support the series’ advertisers as well. Please keep it going, either on ABC or, if necessary, on another channel.

    Please renew The Unforgotten program. I think its one of the more interesting programs on TV and the main character's role is starting to evolve. .

    Love this show,it's unique and feel good. With all the other crime dramas that are so violent and depressing,it's nice to have one that at least resolves things. It's also more compassionate and current than coldcase. Please keep it,even if you have to find a different time slot,love Christian slater and the other characters that could be developed more.

    The Forgotten was an amazing show. Please continue it. If not can you at least make a dvd of the season and sell it cause know i can never find a way to watch it.

    Please continue The Forgotten. It was a great show. Christian Slater did an amazing job , as well as his supporting cast members. Stop getting rid of the good shows and replacing them with boring talkshows or reality crap. Good drama....is my choice anyday.

    05-28-2011 I can tell you part of the problem with The Forgotten. You put the pilot on and then it wasn't on for a couple of weeks and some people forgot about it. I think it was also up against something else at the time like the super bowl, I can't quite remember. Please bring back The Forgotten. It was a great show and Christian Slater and his team did a great job. Plan carefully what you put it up against. Sports for one, kills a lot of good programs. A lot of us are sick of all these talk shows and reality shows. I for one would rather watch a good drama any day. I have heard this from others too. The good ones always get cancelled. Some of them never got a chance because of other shows they were up against in the same time slot. Thank you for reading and hopefully you will reconsider and give it another chance.

    I thought this show was really really good. I don't understand why the networks cancel shows, that have barely started. I would love to see this show, come back :(

    I really enjoyed the forgotten. Instead of cancelling the show, why don't you try another time slot. The show has really good actors and a really good story line. I also don't think enough people know about it. Other shows are advertised nonstop. There were very few ads for the forgotten. I think it deserves another go around.

    Christian Slater really put this story together in a cohesive way. He is a superb actor with a supporting cast and I would like to see more of the stories that were being put together. The writing was good also and Christian did well to characterize the story and make it believable.

    This a a great show. I can't believe it might be cancelled. We have so few good T V shows. This is one of the best please keep it on. This show got be reading up on the real people that do this. I didn't know this story was based on real facts. I am glad there are people that do this.

    Please bring this show back. I am in the over fifty age group, and love a good drama series. The show had great acting, good writing and plot lines. I looked forward to it every week. There are way to many brainless comedies out there. Please reconsider, thank-you Deb P
