CBS has cancelled the American Gothic TV show after one season as a summer series. Deadline reports, “American Gothic, a twisty family drama from creator Corinne Brinkerhoff and Amblin TV, drew 2.7 million viewers and a 0.5 in 18-49 (L+SD).”
A murder mystery series, American Gothic stars: Virginia Madsen, Juliet Rylance, Justin Chatwin, Stephanie Leonidas, Gabriel Bateman, Megan Ketch, and Elliot Knight.

Very dissappointed this show was cancelled. I was really looking forward to a second season. CBS should rethink that decission.
This is a really good show. During the summer I am busy working and do not have time to watch the show when it airs. It is not fair that shows get cancelled because people are busy working and are not home to watch shows when they first air. Technology is the reason why your ratings are low, why watch when it airs when you can watch it online later or DVR it to watch later. Never assume that a show is not worth running if ratings are low and you do not have as many viewers as anticipated.
I really enjoyed American Gothic. I was so looking forward to Season 2. What a shame

CBS Sucks!! As if you cancelled this show?? Who is making the decision over there.. At lest you kept Zoo.. Seems to be the only good show you have kept in a long time..

It should have carried on as it was a mysterious series and the actors were good. I hope Netflix buys it off.
My family and friends LOVED American Gothic series.. Please continue with a season 2.. it was refreshing to have a edge of your seat kind of show to enjoy.. I am a loyal watcher to your station because you have the best shows to watch.. But just cancel a series as good American Gothic just makes me question what you think is worth keeping on air.. Please your audience and bring back American Gothic..thank you and I hope our opinions matter..we will see!
Wow, what a good show… really wish there was at least a 6 episode season 2 to complete the story of this family/community.

I am so sad to hear it has been cancelled! CBS has really made a mistake ending this one. The storyline was interesting and not boring at all. They just needed to give it more time and advertise the show more to bring in more viewers. Personally, I didn’t see any advertisements for American Gothic at all… VERY disappointed…
