A couple weeks ago, we reported that it looked like the recently cancelled Beauty and the Geek show might be getting ready for a comeback. It looks like those plans are coming together pretty quickly.
Beauty and the Geek began on the WB network in 2005 and moved to the CW when the WB folded. The reality show’s last round didn’t measure up to the network’s expectations so it wasn’t renewed for the 2008-09 season. At the time, it was suggested that the series could return after a suitable hiatus.
Just six months later, Gary Newman, the co-chair of 20th Century Fox TV, said that there were efforts currently underway to find another network to air a new season of Beauty. A couple weeks later, it looks like plans to produce a new season of the show are underway.

A casting notice has gone out for a new group of geek contestants. The last season of the show featured one female geek among the usual group of male geeks and it was suspected that producers might want to switch it up a bit more in the future.
For now, it looks like they’re sticking with males, particularly “intelligent and quirky guys who are 21 to 28 with a high IQ or a savvy intellect.” The rest of the details are pretty standard as well.
If you want to apply, you can head on over to RealityWanted.com. Submissions are due by November 14th. We’ll keep you posted when we know more about when the reality show will return to the airwaves. Stay tuned!
HORAY! I love this show!
