Hopefully you weren’t waiting for a second season of the Benched sitcom. USA Network has cancelled the TV show after one season of 12 episodes.
On Benched, a high-powered corporate lawyer (Eliza Coupe) experiences a fall from grace and lands in the rough and tumble world of public defenders. The series also stars Jay Harrington, Oscar Nunez, Maria Bamford, Jolene Purdy, and Carter MacIntyre.
The series debuted in October 2014 to a disappointing 877,000 viewers with a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The ratings for subsequent episodes were both a little better and a little worse but were basically the same.
The season ended up averaging 830,000 viewers and a 0.3 in the demo. It was the least-watched scripted series on USA and Benched tied Covert Affairs (also cancelled) for the lowest demo rating.
Sitcom Playing House had just slightly better ratings but was renewed. According to Deadline, it did well in DVR and VOD viewing so USA decided to bring it back under a different VOD business model. Benched isn’t getting the same second chance.
The final two episodes of Benched aired on December 30th.

I’m disappointed…loved the show and actors. Was just checking to see when the new season would start and found out it was cancelled. I don’t understand why the networks don’t give shows a chance.

I feel this is a very poor choice in your programming. “Benched” was a a very good, thoughtful comedy for your station
I see that you reknewed a sitcom about sex, I believe it is named “Satisfaction”.
Honestly, sex doesn’t sell anymore because it’s everywhere! I want a comedy where people are THINKING abd a little sexual innuendo id is ok.
Cancelling this is a major fail. Shame on you. But. Maybe you will find some trailor trash who is willing to show body parts for a knew show
Benched was a great show! Very funny it’s very sad there won’t be a second seasons. I think USA is trigger happy to drop shows!
It’s crap, why cancel basically all loved shows. It needs to be brought back.

So, so disappointed that Benched is cancelled. It was so entertaining and the actors all did a fabulous job of portraying the list of characters. Another clever and funny show bites the dust… Shame on USA Network!!
I was waitimg for it to come back….. It was funny and origianal….dont even give a show the chance….like all reality show are real.

What the? I loved that show! I was looking forward to for the season 2 when that dude thought eliza was, i mean whatever doesnt matter anymore. Im angry and sad. Whats wrong man like 0.4 rating? I think benched is highly underrated. Pleaseee do a season 2. I dont even live in the usa so how about you just do it for the international viewers.
