HBO still has plenty of warm feelings for their Big Love series. The TV show is doing well and has just been renewed for season five.
Big Love follows the complicated personal life of polygamist Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) and his ever-growing Utah family. The cast includes Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny, Ginnifer Goodwin, Amanda Seyfried, Douglas Smith, Grace Zabriskie, Harry Dean Stanton, Melora Walters, Joel McKinnon Miller, Matt Ross, and Keegan Holst.
The series attracted 1.7 million viewers for the season premiere on January 10th. That represented a nearly 50% increase over 2009’s season three debut. This year, the show has been experiencing a 13% increase over last season, despite some very stiff competition.
Though only four of this season’s nine episodes have aired thus far, HBO is feeling confident that the positive trend will continue. The pay-for-view channel has renewed the show for a fifth cycle of 10 installments.

The producers are currently putting the finishing touches on the last episodes of season four and will then begin thinking about season five.
According to Variety, executive producer Will Scheffer said, “We’re lucky we got another year, as we really were in a place where we didn’t want to end the series. We’re thrilled to take another shot and see where to take the characters.”
Season five of Big Love is expected to begin filming in June or July and will be shown next winter.

I absolutely am looking forward to a fifth season. The story is at a fascinating point of view politically, socially and legally. I am very interested in how the writers are going to handle it. So far they have done well.
This is one of the top shows for me right now. Do we have to wait until January for Season 5? I love this show and I miss watching it.

This is one of the top shows for me right now. The characters are great, and you care enough about them to yell at the screen, “Don’t go in there!!” unlike so many other shows on TV.
I’d like to change my vote after season four though, Ginnifer is not my fav anymore. Jeannie is! Ginnifer is a great toy, but she’s just too stupid, selfish, and reactionary to be fun anymore.

SEASON FOUR WAS TOO TOO SHORT I WENT LOOKING FOR IT AND FOUND THAT IT ENDED MAR 8,???? THE SERIES HAD PLENTLY MORE TO PLAY OUT AND ADD….. NOW WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT SEASON…..SO SAD!
I”ve been hooked on Big Love since it first aired in 2006. Can’t wait til season 5!! Hope they don’t decide to skip a year like they did in 2008 and make us wait (don’t know what happened there), instead of 2006, 07, 08, 09, it was 2006, 07, 09 and 2010 :s ….that was awful..lol. Great show, keep it coming!

yes, i just cant wait for season five!! i have a big love for big love 🙂 i only hate that the season five premiere is not here allready 🙁 loved this last season four episode.
I think this a series where there is so much to learn and to really think about in all families,,,not that I believe in a plural marriage. It takes marriage and love and relationships to another level! Some of the things are really close to a lot of Mormon families, (I was a Mormon as well) in the way they believe in family and children and their home lifes (not in the plural part). I am so glad as well that they are having another season, I was worried after the ending that there was not going to be more.… Read more »
