Deadline reports Betty White is reprising the role of Dr. Beth Mayer in the tenth episode of the Bones TV show’s final chapter on FOX. The Golden Girls and Hot in Cleveland vet originated the character last season, in episode 11.04, “The Carpals in the Coy-Wolves.”
According to the report, “White’s Dr. Mayer, is accomplished, sharp as a tack and absolutely fabulous. With a half century of work under her belt, Dr. Mayer is without a doubt the world’s most experienced forensic anthropologist.” The series stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz.
Betty White Returns to Guest-Star in the 12th and Final Season of Bones on FOX
Since Hot in Cleveland ended its six season run on TV Land in 2015, White has voiced the role of Beatrice, on an episode of Nickelodeon‘s SpongeBob SquarePants. She also guest starred as Sandy, on Crowded, which NBC cancelled after one season, in May of 2016.
Bones‘ 12-episode season will bring Brennan (Deschanel), Booth’s (Boreanaz) and the Jeffersonian-FBI team’s storylines to a close.
The production plans to give Bones fans closure and bid farewell to its memorable characters. FOX says, “Throughout the final chapter, fans will see the return of fan-favorite guest stars and squinterns, as well as an old flame from one of the team’s past.”
Expect a wedding and an “epic” serial killer storyline. In addition, Booth and Brennan’s marriage will be “put to the test.”
