Robert and Michelle King found success with their last CBS series, The Good Wife. Now, they’re trying something different with BrainDead. How will it perform in the ratings? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
On BrainDead, Laurel Healy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has returned home to Washington, DC to work for her brother, Senator Luke Healy (Danny Pino) on Capitol Hill. She is caught in the midst of two huge problems: the government has stopped working due to budgetary disagreements, and mysterious bugs are eating the brains of a growing number of members of Congress and Hill staffers. The rest of the cast includes Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James, Johnny Ray Gill, Charlie Semine, and Jan Maxwell.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
10/18 update: CBS has cancelled BrainDead after one season. Details here.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the BrainDead TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I love this show. It is funny and different. CBS please renew this show.
Please please please renew this show for a second season! It is smart, funny, and like nothing else on television right now. It’s relevant to what is going on in our country right now, politically, but silly and fun. Bring Braindead back next season!
Love this show!!
WHAT A REFRESHING SHOW!!! FINALLY, SOMETHING DIFFERENT ON T.V.
IT IS INNOVATIVE, AND FUN! SO TIRED OF THE USUAL REALITY SHOWS!!!
I REALLY HOPE THAT YOU WILL GIVE THIS MUCH NEEDED SATIRE, A REAL RUNNING CHANCE!

Renew this funny, entertaining show!!
Renew!! Well written politico-sci fi. I want to see what happens next!
Here is the deal CBS. Renew Braindead or ALL Of the fans will be sending you monkey brains. Please give this show a fair chance. You know the reasons why there are not more viewers. And besides WTH are u gonna do with all those monkey brains????
Renew please. This is the best thing I have seen in many years. Love it. helps make these bleak ridiculous interactions from mud slinging, personality disordered “politics” slightly tolerable. I was sinking into depths of depression of outlook for my childrens futures with all the ridiculous and absolutely out of realities domain stances of one particular newby politician. It is much better viewed as a fictional tv show. wish the real life was a fiction to dissolve with clicking off the tv. Please renew, perfect dark and surreal comedy for times as these.
Love this show. It skewers both sides of the aisle. Especially loved the episode when Red (Tony Shalhoub) receives an intelligence briefing that Syria is not a threat but he wants to start a ward against Syria. He announces he has received news about Syria that has “shocked” him, implying the opposite of the briefing. Sound like Donald Trump being shocked by information that he inferred from the body language of his briefers?
This show needs to be renewed. It has al aspects; comedy, drama, suspense, and romance.
This show started slowly but I am addicted to it! So disappointed they may cancel!!! Anything to do to keep the show on???
