Has CBS killed BrainDead? Network chief Glenn Geller recently discussed the show’s status at the TCA summer press tour.
From Robert and Michelle King, the dark comedy stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a young Washington DC staffer who begins noticing something wrong with the politicians on Capitol Hill—mysterious bugs are eating their brains. The cast also includes Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James, Johnny Ray Gill, Charlie Semine, and Jan Maxwell.
At the TCAs, Geller said no decision has been made yet regarding BrainDead‘s future:

So far, the show hasn’t performed as well in the ratings as many of CBS’ other series. Seven episodes into season one, BrainDead is averaging a .46 in the 18-49 demo and 3.054 million viewers.

I enjoyed Brain Dead a great deal. It was slightly dark while being extremely witty. I very much enjoyed the cast, especially Mary E. Winstead

Do not canx this show! Its witty, amusing, and timely for now and every year as we all know the politicians are operating with half brains. To nix this will be a mistake.
We bugs demand equal show time with that of boring predictable humanoid programs. Bring the bugs back! By far the most creative, quirky, current program in YEARS. Fabulous cast, acting, music, cinematography, and Laural’s wardrobe and number of changes was stellar! Poor time of year to show it – keep it going, repeat first year and bring us a second one, I’m sure it will take off like a million bugs in Spring full on cherry blossom nectar!
Dont cancel it morons, just put it in a time slot & leave it there & show it every week not ocaisionally like youre doing with life in pieces, of which I also fear cancellation…sadly

Love love love love love. It is a slow grower that’s all. Just discovered it. My son too. Telling everyone. Smart, witty and I love satire!!!
This show seriously needs to be renewed! It’s so unique. I love the sci fi aspect with the bugs and the comedy. It’s a highly relevant show as it mocks US politicians haha! It’s pretty clear that Red Wheatus is Donald Trump.
I love Braun Dead!!!! Bring it back. It explains what’s going on in politics today. Lol.

This show is one of a kind. There are no shows like this anywhere on TV. As a 13-year-old, despite what some people are saying, I think this appeals to most people. It has the comedy to keep younger viewers interested, the romance which most are engaged in, the politics for elder viewers and middle aged viewers and also the bugs which pretty much keeps everyone on their toes. This show is an absolute gem. Second series please!!!!!!!
