Dallas: The Ewings Want to Eat Dinner with You

by Trevor Kimball, August 14, 2008

SouthforkLook out Texas! The Ewings are returning for a barbecue bash to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the hit primetime soap, Dallas.

The celebration will take place on Saturday, November 8th and will be held on the Southfork Ranch, north of Dallas in Parker, Texas. Dallas stars Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, and Patrick Duffy have already confirmed that they’ll attend and there will also be a special “red carpet” event with other special celebrity guests and surprises (other castmembers perhaps?)

The festivities will get underway at 6pm and run until midnight. Aside from the sit-down barbecue meal, activities will include fireworks, a country music concert by nine-time Grammy Award-winners Asleep At The Wheel, a question-and-answer session with the cast, and tours of the mansion.

Incidentally, this is the same ranch that was used as the exterior for the CBS series from 1978 to 1991. When the Dallas series began, it was a private residence. As the series became popular, the owners rented areas of the ranch for private parties. After awhile, constant interest from the public led the family to move out. Southfork became strictly a tourist attraction in 1985 and the mansion was opened to the public for the first time. In 1992, an Arizona businessman purchased the property and the facilities have continued to grow with over $14 million in improvements. The ranch hosts daily tours and more than 1,400 events each year.

Tickets for The Dallas 30th Anniversary Cast Reunion & Ewing BBQ at SouthFork go on sale August 22nd and will range in price from $100 to $1,000. For more information, visit www.dr30.com. Stay tuned! TV Series Finale home page
