canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Gotham: Season Two Ratings

Published: May 24, 2016

Gotham TV show on FOX: ratings (cancel or renew?)When Gotham debuted, it looked like a solid ratings hit for FOX. Unfortunately, the ratings declined and dropped about 50% by the end of the season. Will they continue to fall in season two? Will the series be cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.

A dark crime drama, Gotham tells the early stories of police detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and iconic Gotham City characters — before they became legendary crimefighters, villains. and vigilantes. The rest of the cast includes Donal Logue, Morena Baccarin, Michael Chiklis, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, Zabryna Guevara, Cory Michael Smith, Victoria Cartagena, Andrew Stewart Jones, and John Doman.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

3/16 update: FOX has renewed Gotham for a third season. Details here.

5/24 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparisons: The first season of Gotham averaged a 2.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.10 million total viewers.

Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

How are your shows doing in the ratings? Check the current rankings:
A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS
TNT | TV Land | USA Network | WGN America

What do you think? Do you still like the Gotham TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?

@Jesse that’s because this show takes everything that is good about the batman comics and throws it right out the GD window. This is NOT a comic show. This is a soap opera using characters from comics.

I agree with others that have noticed a shift from S1. This was suppose to be about young Bruce Wayne and what molds him to become Batman — things that happen to him a la Smallville. But, the show is more about Gordon. Also, how long can they actually run this show before Bruce takes to the streets even as an amateur? The young actor won’t stay young forever. So, it has a very short shelf life from the start. That just begs the question on why waste time with stories and story arcs that have nothing to do with… Read more »

I think the show is turning very freak. Seems that they´re about to call Uma Thurman and Arnie for play their sultry roles in the Batman´s cycle. ugh.

I agree with this i always like Batman stuff, but it got overly violent and kinda of stupid and freaky some characters are just too crazy and over the top and trying to develop too many characters. I liked the first season, found the second season a little unwatchable, have watched in a while but it appeared the last episode i watched they were going with a gay relationship with penguin and riddler really do we need more crazy stuff going on. more stupid story lines. My prediction cancelled soon too bad i thought it had potential

My most favorite show on the air at this time. Can’t wait for the next episodes, usually watch the current episode twice. Every episode is a thrill ride, has me on the edge of my seat for an hour.

I think it’s an awesome series. Fans of Batman will enjoy watching it coz it shows the origin of batman. Up until now I didn’t even know that the ratings were low. I thought it was one of the best well thought out series of all time. And thinking that it takes long to build, well that means you don’t know the beauty of it all. The waiting and anxiety is what makes it worth it.

Haha oh man, that’s funny. Don’t get me wrong, Gotham is bad, but Supergirl? Oh man, Supergirl is 1 big fashion montage and non-stop whiny girl-problems show.

That’s because “fans of Batman” do not like this show, thus the low ratings. It’s hardly about Batman/Bruce Wayne at all and is more of a soap opera than a coming of age tale about a young superhero.

Seems like it is never progressing. I started watching from the beginning with hope that the stories and cast would suck me in but I can’t even tell you what day of the week it is on anymore. True sign of an uninteresting program.

Not sure why you got downvoted so much. You expressed, in a non-offensive way, that you have lost interest in an uninteresting show. I guess the fan boys (or more likely fan girls) just can’t stand to have someone have a difference of opinion. Now then… bring on the downvotes because I disagree with you. You’ll show me!
