canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Harry’s Law: Has the NBC Series Been Cancelled?

by Trevor Kimball, February 3, 2012

Harry's Law canceled? We’ve received a few emails from readers asking if Harry’s Law has been cancelled. After all, the last original episode of the Kathy Bates series aired on January 18th.

The legal drama has certainly been struggling in the ratings and is one of the lowest-rated shows on the network this season. But, while it’s hard to imagine that Harry’s Law will be renewed for a third season, the series hasn’t been cancelled just yet. It does have a lot of viewers, just not in the desired demographic unfortunately.

Harry’s Law is on hiatus and won’t return until March 11th, once the February sweeps period has finished. NBC ordered 22 episodes for the current season so there are 10 installments left to air.

Since it’s likely that the show won’t be back, hopefully the cast and crew won’t leave viewers with a cliffhanger in the last episode.

What do you think? Are you still watching Harry’s Law? Do you miss it when it’s not on?

My family loves the show. The cast is awesome and it is just so different than other shows. We certainly hope it isn’t cancelled. Again, why keep changing the days and/or times shows air? Watch the days that shows are played, low days with nothing much on air, my goodness isn’t that an excellent time to up the ratings?

I have to say that I do COMPLETELY agree with all of the previous posts. While the network did screw-up the original show, which ABSOLUTELY Wonderful, I do still love the show in its current format. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THE SHOW! The stupid networks have already cancelled many of my favorite shows like ‘Chuck’ and ‘My Name Is Earl’…Please do not cancel another of my favorite shows. I know the networks love the stupid reality show, but with a few rare exceptions, I hate them! I absolutely cannot stand the stand the reality singing shows like Fake Idol…err I… Read more »

I really love the program and the jumorous twists and look forward to watching it. I do think that they shot themselves in the foot when they “expanded” their office, but the good writing and acting is still there. Please don’t cancel it, cancel some other drab show like Law & Order, SVU……same old same old same old….

You mean they haven’t canceled SVU yet? I have only seen reruns for like 3/4ths of the season. I just assumed they must have canceled it already.

I don’t watch the “Harry’s Law,” but it sounds like what Fox did with Mark Valley’s previous series, “Human Target.” They made major changes between seasons.

I absolutely loved the first season, it was quircky, it had Kathy Bates and it was different. The second season seems to be filled with hidden agendas. I still try & watch it; but it jumped the shark for me with the show about the gorilla.

NBC can screw up a 2 car funeral.. Too bad —

The Gorilla show would not even air where I live. Honestly it was even dropping signal in OnDemand version. I missed that one altogether, and tried like the dickens (keeping it clean for the site here) to watch it. Now I’m thinking that I didn’t miss much.

@bruce: You nailed it. When I saw the first show of this season I thought I was watching the wrong show. What a mess they made. Love the old cast and characters.
I guess I didn’t get enough stupid training to get this concept.
Too bad.

@Bethany: I agree 100% with you. The first season, this show was something different. Harry’s new career literally fell out of the sky (lol). The shoe store was a gas (“you mean I can like, get help with a will and buy a pair of pumps too?”)? Yes, Mr. Kelly’s well known for his politics and his preaching, (like Norman Lear was in his time), but look at the quality of his shows (THE PRACTICE, BOSTON LEGAL, etc): stellar writing, with some of the best character actors on earth to bring it to life. THEN, here comes this season. The… Read more »

I have enjoyed Harry’s Law since they totally screwed it up. But I so miss the fun and quirky show that I watched over and over during the first season. If they could go back to something closer to what it was when it had started, I could see this show lasting for years and years. But they can never leave a good thing alone. Either they move it all over the schedule so you can’t find it when you expect to watch it, or they completely tear it apart and rebuild it into something that it was never meant… Read more »

Hell yea, I’m watching it. I swear, I think all of my GOOD shows are being cancelled. How about cancelling some of those shows that are worthless!? Like, how in the devil did Cougartown get to come back on air? Now, there’s a show worthy of the cancellation pile. I’ve just got into Harry’s Law, and I really love it.

I love the show, although I did prefer the original premise. Please don’t cancel it. I only watch three shows on TV, and “Harry’s Law” is No. 1.

MJ Hloday » That’s total viewers which, right or wrong, isn’t nearly as important as the demo numbers to advertisers.

I honestly gave up on the show after the changes took place, but I think it’s a good show nonetheless. So if people want it, keep it coming. And besides, Kathy Bates is great.
