canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

In Plain Sight: Episode Order Cut, Headed for Cancellation?

by Trevor Kimball, June 21, 2010

In Plain SightUSA Network’s In Plain Sight TV show recently had its episode order cut from 16 to 13 installments. Is this a sign that the series is headed for the TV graveyard after three seasons?

Not necessarily. It turns out that In Plain Sight will wrap season three early for another reason. The Futon Critic was told by Universal Cable Productions, “John McNamara, executive producer and showrunner of USA Network’s In Plain Sight, took a leave of absence for medical reasons… John Romano assumed executive producer responsibilities for the remaining episodes. Given the unexpected change, we decided to end the season at a natural spot — with the surprising cliffhanger of episode 13.”

Season three will finish airing on Wednesday, June 30th. In Plain Sight hasn’t been renewed for a fourth season yet and isn’t necessarily looking like a lock either.

Last season reportedly averaged 4.08 million viewers but recent episodes have been attracting less than three million viewers. That’s certainly not a good indicator for renewal.

What do you think? Should In Plain Sight be renewed for season four or cancelled?

Keep the show. It is one of the best shows on television. There is so much junk now, it is a relief and such a pleasure to shee a show so well put together. Mary is excellent in her role and the cast all seem to blend so well together. The working and friendship relationship between Mary and Marshall is wonderful. The show has a wonderful cast who all seem to fit together so well. Which gives the show a wonderful quality and definitely holds the vieweers interest. Please keep. If USA could find a way to get Detroit 187… Read more »

I have been watching in plain site for almost all of the 2 years. I have really come to love this show. Mary is a ruff and tuff female that does have a soft heart. To me by watching Mary many woman out there are watching a woman being strong.

Not taking crap from anyone. Her and Marshall are each other’s rock in terms of the job. They help each other, They are partners that work very well together.

Please Keep Them On. At least let us see Marshall get amrried.

“In Plain Sight” is a great show. It’s a shame to lose it. I agree with everyone else, if you want more viewers then move it to a better time slot. That’s how you keep USA viewers. Good time slots + good shows = viewers.

I love the show and call my sister about the plot as she and her husband watch from their home. Unfortunately for In Plain Sight, we often choose the competition’s program in prime time because we can watch a rerun of each episode at another time because the station offers the rebroadcasts. We usually watch it every week, even if its at 1 am since we are usually up til 2 am anyway. I agree with my sister and her husband, great acting, Mary is the star, and good plots. Keep the show but move it to a different time… Read more »

I agree with my husband. We both like to watch it together but like the competition on the same time slot. Fix the time slot and you will get more watchers.
Mary is the star and the hint of deep caring between her and Marshall is done very well.
I/we like all the characters, meaning the guest stars as well as the regulars. They all act well and the show is fairly realistic.

Its a good show, good story lines and fine acting. It should stay on, maybe need a different time and they will get a bigger audience.

This is by far one of the best shows on tv right now. The network should listen to the fans and not cancel the show.
