CBS kept Hostages on the air even though it became obvious that it was doomed to be cancelled after one season. How has Intelligence fared? Will it suffer the same fate or will it be renewed for a second season instead?
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Josh Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
Debuting on a Tuesday night in January, sandwiched between NCIS and Person of Interest, Intelligence’s first episode drew a very healthy 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 16.49 million viewers.
Unfortunately, most of those viewers didn’t return for the second episode the following Monday. That attracted just a 1.2 in the demo with 6.2 million, a decline of more than 50%.
The numbers have risen and fallen since then but have generally been moving downward. Last week’s episode tied a series low in the demo and hit a new low in viewership. Looking at the averages, it’s also the lowest-rated show currently on the network (aside from Saturday night’s 48 Hours).
Like Hostages before it, it’s clear that Intelligence won’t be back for a second season. The ratings are just too low. CBS recently renewed most of their primetime shows for next season. Intelligence was one of the few that were missing from that list.
At this point, we can hope that the producers finished the 13 episodes in a satisfying way.
But, what do you think? Do you like Intelligence? If you were running the network, would you renew it or cancel it to make way for something else?
Add it to Tuesday night line up & get rid of that stupid Person of Interest show. That would make my Tuesday complete!
OMG! I love this show & so want it to continue! Please please please…
hopen you keep this show all my house hold likes it and there is 7 of us so out of all the people who is watching look out for us because we love the show
Love Intelligence and think if you give it more time and place it on a different day the ratings will be better! You need to give it more than one year to see if it succeeds!
Love Intelligence. Hate the competition. Hope it comes back for 2nd season. Maybe they need to move it to another night to boost ratings? I hate most current programming. Intelligence has my interest. Do NOT cancel.
Love the show would hats to see it canceled. Another night might be better. Hope you keep it
please do not cancel intelligence it is a fun show to watch, add bit more flair though for the next season, do make it soon.
It’s not very origins, and to derivative of Jake2.0 and Chuck. On another night, it would be cancelled.
I love this show and never miss an episode. Yes being on Monday nights hurts it so please keep it. Everything else on Monday nights sucks!
I love this show. It’s the best tv show that i watch other than Bones. I love the Chemistry between Gabriel and Riley. I think there needs to be a second season. I think they need to give it a chance. Move it to a different night, and different time and i think you’ll have your viewers!
This is a great show and good action with a great star like Josh Holloway however running on Monday opposite Blacklist is no good. Needs to be moved to a different night and time; then the ratings will go up. It will draw more ratings on a different night. Who agrees????
I agree. Maybe if it were on a different night.
The show offers some very good stories and a great blend of acting. I believe that it does deserve a second season. Other low rated programs in the past have been huge winners and this one could be that diamond in the rough
Its a good show but not for Monday night. There are just too many junior shows for this freshman show to handle. Iam willing to say that not even the untouchable “NCIS” would do well with there current cast and story lines.
I like this series very much !
The show is great.. The chemistry between Gabriel and Riley is there, the stories are getting better and the rest of the cast does an excellent job.
I think it deserves another season. We as viewers deserve another season!
