The ratings have come down quite a bit (again) this year but CBS has decided to keep Person of Interest around for a fifth season.
On Person of Interest, a presumed dead former-CIA agent (Jim Caviezel) and a mysterious billionaire (Michael Emerson) work together to prevent violent crimes in New York City. The rest of the cast includes Kevin Chapman, Sarah Shahi, and Amy Acker.
Airing on Tuesday nights at 10pm, the fourth season of the series has averaged a 1.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.42 million viewers. Compared to the third season, that’s down by 22% in the demo and down by 20% in viewership.
It’s in the middle of the pack of CBS’ current crop of scripted series and its fate could have gone either way. A fifth season will put Person of Interest over the 100 episode mark, making for a solid-sized syndication package, which may have played a role in the renewal.
What do you think? Do you like the Person of Interest series? Do you think season five should be the end?
Update: It looks like season five may be the end for Person of Interest on CBS.
bring it on!! 🙂
My husband and I love the show. We have turned friends and family onto it. Not sure why the ratings are down. The Lord knows it is better than watching programs where the dead are devouring the living, vampires are biting or demons possessing the minds. “Persons of Interests” at least gives a person a sense that someone, a machine or if one wants “God,” cares about their life. The characters draw you in. You want them to succeed against enemies seen or unseen. Even against our own government, if it is the right thing to do or just thing… Read more »
I love this show. The writing, the acting, the action. Are wonderful.
I would be so unhappy if it were cancelled.
The best acting and story line on prime time.
Realizing that there has been quite excessive dumbing down of America, could you please keep it on for the remaining few with a semblance of intelligence.
There is not much else to watch.
I love this show and do not want to see it cancelled. My opinion one of the best shows on TV. Please don’t cancel it!!!
The writers need to be careful, as they could write themselves out of a job. Killing off the Carter character was a big mistake IMHO (but not for Taraji P. Henson). Consistency is important for viewers to relate to the characters and plot. People need to have a reason to keep watching, and not get lost in all of the extreme story lines.
Best show on TV…..I just wish they would not try t get so out on the edge. People seem to lose interest when the suspense des and the plots seem too weird to believe…same thing happened to criminal minds they went from being suspenseful to being to gruesome. CM was good when they were actually holding back on reviewing the unsub and cooling the guts. I hope POI sees that at gets back to being a suspenseful mystery so you have to stay tuned and watch so as to figure it out
Since the beginning this show has been my favorite. I was sorry to see Carter go but that was a strong episode. I think the cast is great. I not so sure about the story line as of late. A few to many left turns in some of the shows.
I was so bummed when I originally heard this his was cancelled., glad to hear back on for another season.
love this show
don’t care if Taraji is gone…
My favorite show since the beginning. Cannot wait to see season five.
At age 66, we tend to forget… but, have been looking for Person Of Interest. I almost forgot, but this week is the first or second week of the NEW 2015 season and where is POI??? Please, keep it on the air… I still love the program, and hoping it will be on the air!!!
very interesting plot
give us season 5 !!
One of the best dramas please do not cancel
Haven’t missed an episode since it started. Without a doubt it’s one of my all time favorites, so looking forward to the new season and hope it’s not the last!
