ABC Family has cancelled Ravenswood after one short season of 10 episodes. Though Pretty Little Liars is the cable channel’s biggest scripted series, the spin-off just never caught on.
Ravenswood follows a group of five young strangers who find their lives intertwined thanks to a deadly curse in a small Pennsylvania town. The cast includes Tyler Blackburn, Nicole Anderson, Britne Oldford, Brett Dier, Merritt Patterson, and Steven Cabral.
Debuting in late October, Ravenswood’s first episode drew a healthy 2.12 million viewers. However, many viewers must not have liked what they saw because only half as many tuned in for the second episode.
The cable channel tried to give the series a fighting chance by putting it on hiatus over the holidays and then by pairing it with Liars. That gave the show an initial boost but viewers fled once again the following week. The 10 episode season ended up averaging 1.29 million viewers.
The defacto series finale aired on February 4th.

Ugh, one of the best shows on Abc family. I’m a big fan of pretty little liars, but I honestly think Ravenswood is way more interesting. So disappointed it got cancelled. Why do you cancel all the good shows Abc family? 🙁
I liked watching Ravenswood… until they killed one of the main characters… where was that going to lead? I didn’t like that and thought that was a mistake. I also thought they needed more cross over shows with both Pretty Little Liars and Ravenswood. That would have been great.
I don’t know why they keep cancelling all the good shows, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, The Secret Circle, and now Ravenswood
I don’t get why this show didn’t catch on, it was so riveting. It kept me on the edge of my seat every week. I didn’t realize the viewers were lacking in numbers. I’m seriously upset this show is cancelled because now I’ll never know what happens. A shame because some of the times the ravwnswood episodes were better than the pretty little liars one that aired before it. :/
I am so sad about this. This was one of my favourite shows besides PLL. I was on the edge of my seat every week, waiting for the next big thing!

I loved ravenswood. First episode, I was hooked with the show. It was the only good show on ABC family. I hope ABC family knows what their doing. They will loose a lot of viewers by cancelling ravenswood. I’d say a million viewers is pretty good.
This is ridiculous. It should not be cancelled for the non-viewers, but kept goin for the supports. I know many people have an attatchement to this show and looked forward to it more than PLL. This show is unbelievably good and should NOT Be cut so quickly. It’s not right. I looked forward to this show. It was amazing, the cast as writers are all phenominal and it should not end. I agree with everything this person says. Because, a million viewers is still a lot of watchers and it’s ridiculous of Abcfamily to cancel a show withought giving it a real chance. They gave Baby Daddy a real chance when it seemed questionable it’s viewership would raise. Like many of these people who are upset about Ravenswood being canceled so is my mother and I!! Why is it that you waste your time doing one season of something and get people into it then cancel it??? Same thing with so many other shows that’ I’ve started watching. Maybe I’ll just boycott American tv and stick with my home grown stuff, at least I know home and away and neighbours will never end and I’ll never be stuck not know where it was going!!!!!
Y’all are ridiculous. I will NEVER again promote anything that abc family plays on their tv channel. Ravenswood was the best show on that channel no comparison. I am very very upset about this decision. Very poor choice on y’all’s part.
I wasn’t too sure about Ravenswood, watching episode 1, but the show definitely got better!! This was a program that my husband & I could sit down & watch with our teenagers as a family. We ALL loved the show & are VERY disappointed that ABC has decided to cancel the series.
I love this show !!! Why is it being cancelled ? My sis and I get together and watch PLL and than watch Ravenswood . It’s an awesome show please continue with season 2 !!
