As you may have noticed, FOX has been having a tough time establishing new dramatic TV series. Last season’s Almost Human was cancelled. Sleepy Hollow was renewed but is now struggling. How is this season’s Red Band Society performing? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Cancel or keep it?
A dramedy, Red Band Society revolves around the young patients and caretakers of the pediatric ward of the renowned Ocean Park Hospital in Los Angeles. The cast includes Octavia Spencer, Dave Annable, Griffin Gluck, Nolan Sotillo, Charlie Rowe, Astro, Zoe Levin, Ciara Bravo, Mandy Moore, and Rebecca Rittenhouse.

The show debuted in mid-September to a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.1 million viewers. It was hardly a great start for the series. The second week saw the numbers drop more than 15%. A decline of that size isn’t unusual for a second week but Red Band Society didn’t have any points to spare.
Episode three held steady but the fourth installment fell even lower, to a 0.9 in the demo and 2.92 million. Last week’s episode saw a bit of growth, registering a 1.0 rating with 3.165 million. Tonight’s pre-emption isn’t likely to help with the ratings.
Currently, Red Band Society is the network’s second-lowest dramatic series. Only Gracepoint is doing worse and it surely won’t be back for another season.
Unless the ratings keep rising, Red Band Society will surely be cancelled by spring, if not sooner. The network ordered some additional scripts today. If the scripts end up being produced, it’s likely only because they don’t have another show to fill the timeslot.
Hopefully, whenever the show comes to close, faithful viewers will be given some sort of closure to the story of the kids from Ocean Park Hospital.

Keep it! The last episode ended with such a cliff hanger and they can’t just do that. They need to at least finish the season.
i love the show it’s very good and they need to keep it or people might not ever watch fox again.

I loved the show even before I won a small part (Shirley) on the episode where Jordy steals my meds.
Octavia Spencer is brilliant as the nurse who rides herd on her patients.
The kids and staff are excellent, acting their parts with talent and commitment.
My one regret is that the writers did not give us some history on each of the patients. Why is Zoe a nymphomaniac? What made Emma become anorexic? Jordy must have an interesting tale about becoming emancipated. Those histories would have helped further the story.
I would hate to see the series terminated.

This show is AMAZING! Keep it, keep it, keep it. You don’t want to lose viewers. This show relates to many people and many people love it including myself. Make sure it doesn’t get cancelled. Give it time

I’ve grown tired of investing myself in a new series and it not getting at least a full season, but the networks have got to do what they feel they need to do.

I’ve only seen bits & pieces of the show…..but it looks pretty good. I tend to avoid any series that I see is going to turn into another long drawn-out ‘soap opera…..requiring viewers to ‘tune in’ every week for years on end……( ‘Lost’ is a GREAT example )……and they never just get to the point! I watched the 1st episode of ‘Under The Dome’, ‘Sleepy Hollow’…..and a few episodes of ‘Lost’, ‘Revolution’, Alcatraz’ & ‘The River’…….They just go on & on & who’s got the time to dedicate? ‘Breaking Bad’ was the exception for me.
