It looks like Still Star-Crossed is on the way out, but what does the cast think? Recently, star Torrance Coombs discussed the ill-fated ABC TV show on Twitter.
From executive producer Shonda Rhimes, the period drama is a sequel the William Shakespeare tragedy Romeo and Juliet and follows the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets in the wake of the two lovers’ deaths. The cast includes Grant Bowler, Wade Briggs, Torrance Coombs, Dan Hildebrand, Lashana Lynch, Ebonee Noel, Medalion Rahimi, Zuleikha Robinson, Sterling Sulieman, Susan Wooldridge, Anthony Head, Caspar, Carl Chambers, Greg Chillen, Shazad Latif, Clara Rugaard, and Lucien Laviscount.
While ABC has not officially announced the cancellation of Still Star-Crossed, it’s effectively done. After only three episodes, the network moved the drama from Monday to Saturday nights, a not-so-promising move.
On Twitter, Coombs addressed the show’s cancellation:
Yes, it's true that #StillStarCrossed won't be going for a second season. However, the remainder of season 1 will be broadcast.

It's a funny business. I think it's one of the best things I've done. Sometimes you catch fire and sometimes you don't. #StillStarCrossed

Thanks to @ShondalandTV and @ABCNetwork for trying something a bit different. Didn't succeed in ratings but it was beautiful anyway.

It's my understanding that all 7 episodes will air. The four best still to come 😉 #StillStarCrossed https://t.co/XEwDFSW1si

We were originally slated to shoot 9, but the show turned out to be more elaborate than anticipated and we only had time for 7. https://t.co/MsUlIXfbhF

I think I'm going to retire from them for a bit. But then, I said that after #Reign 😛 https://t.co/lQbWmwZJWL

More an issue of time. For example, Reign shot an ep in 8-9 days. SSC was closer to 15 days per ep. Logistics of scripts/locations. https://t.co/8IRPMXL1bz

Missing my #StillStarCrossed squad. So proud of our show. Catch the rest of the series starting July 8th. pic.twitter.com/avO0xFHaAr

Some parts will be resolved and others set up what would have been season 2. #StillStarCrossed https://t.co/Px3MFzC8FT

What do you think? Have you seen Still Star-Crossed? Do you think the show should’ve been given a second chance?
What makes me mad is that abc didn’t even give this show enough time to get popular after 10 eps they cancelled it but yet they continue to put garbage shows out there that no one watches come on bring this show back I wanna see more of it
I loved the show!! PLEASE bring it back!!! It was starting to get really good!!
I enjoy still Star-Crossed please give it a second chance I enjoyed it tremendously. The show is I watched it took my mind from the craziness of this world that we live in it soothes me. Go Shonda go. You are the best.
I kept losing the show. I finally caught up on all the episodes just to find out it has been cancelled! Why do they keep putting garbage reality shows on TV when good dramas like this one get tossed to the curb? This sequel to Romeo and Juliet was wonderful. Please…don’t let it die.
I am 82 Young I love this show. I am. I will tell my family and friends about it. If they have paramount plus they can see the beginnings of season 1 and then they can bother ABC to start S2. If 2worlds so different can do it why can’t all countries do the same.
