Teen Wolf: Season Six Ratings

Published: September 26, 2017

Teen Wolf TV show on MTV: ratings (cancel?)There was a big drop in the ratings for the Teen Wolf TV show last season and now, MTV has decided that their most successful scripted series will end with season six and 100 episodes. Will the ratings bounce back for the final season? Will the execs regret not making a seventh season or, should they have cancelled it with season five? Stay tuned.

On the last season of Teen Wolf, Scott and the pack head into their final months of high school. But the best days of their lives turn bleak when they lose their closest ally. Before the end, Scott and Lydia will stand alone against the growing darkness and fight to stop the destruction of everything and everyone they love. The MTV cast includes Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Dylan Sprayberry, Linden Ashby, Melissa Ponzio, and J.R. Bourne.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

Reference point: The fifth season of Teen Wolf averaged a 0.45 rating in the 18-49 demographics with 1.05 million total viewers.

A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS

Pretty much stopped watching the series after season 4 when it became clear the writers veered away from the one character who was at the heart of he show, Scott. Never did find out why Scott was special. The writers were so bent on emasculating him as a Natural Alpha in order to bring in a ton of other creatures. The character Scott became a wimp.

Let’s be honest as soon as Derek left the ratings died, as well as stydia happening that just killed the show. Stydia was fan serviced and the writers crapped on Scott, Malia and Kira’s characters. They turned stiles into a f*ckboy and lydia into a snake. The ratings wouldve raised of sterek happened, congratulations angela you killed the show with your terrible writing:))))

I have to say, i liked to the idea of Stydia in season 1. But 6 seasons later, they seem more like brother and sister, which makes me cringe when i watched season 6A. But I’m over this tv show, this season was a total fan service and characters you think would be integral to this season like a certain hell hound was just overshadowed by the fact that the writers are catering to stydia. Not to mention its almost like a lot of the progress lydia went through in season 5 was just ignored to cater to stydia.

Interesting. Comments hating on the ‘white boy Stiles’ are allowed but comments calling out the way the show queerbaited exploiting LGBT people are not. Thanks, mods.

This show and all of its shameful queerbaiting should have ended years ago, back when they decided that lying to fans, disrespecting and using them to collect awards was a good idea. The writers incompetence, the terrible no homo and the actors exploitative behavior are at fault. Let it burn.

My son,15 and I , 40 watch this show ever week… Together! If you think getting a teenager to ‘hang’ out with you is easy, youre crazier than every battle Scott & the crew has ever fought against!!. This show is beyond amazing. The acting is incredible & has allowed US .. All of us.. To grow with each & every one of them. And always weary of the new ones… Who 9/10 times are bad.. And lead to great battle scenes & stories. This show cannot be canceled!! Ps… Ease up on the commercials! Its become 5 min show… Read more »

I watched the show a lot, I think honestly it started to go downhill when they decided to do dumb things for publicity that they never intended to follow through with while telling fans “if the demand is high enough it’s certainly a possibility” and also not actually keeping their own continuity straight didn’t help

Stop watching after season four! The writers all have ADHD and the story plot is all over the place. After 5 season and almost half of 6 being over, I still can’t tell anyone what a True Alpha is! I understand how one becomes a True alpha, but what are the physical abilities of a true alpha. What is the history of the true alpha? Is there another one alive? I don’t care if he is physically superior or not, I just wanted the writers to finish the true alpha storyline (since Scott becoming a True Alpha was the most… Read more »

The shows rating decreased becuase the writers decided to make the show “teen **** boy stiles and his POC friend in the background”. Its the final season and they made stydia cannon so the salty stydia fans could shut up and stop harrasing the actors (like shelly and the guy who plays parrish). So yeah instead of making it about scott (the ACTUAL main character) lets make it about the fan favorite white boy that the white girls keep dick riding.

Unfortunately Posey isn’t a very good actor and Scott is not a well written or sympathetic character. (Pathetic, maybe.) It is NOT ‘The Scott McCall Show’ and sny young werewolf could be the ‘Teen Wolf;. Scott has never been the most popular character and cannot carry the show as evidenced bythe dramatic ratings drop of season 6.

IDK about you but I was impressed with Lydia near the end of last season. She turned into quite the warrior. But this season it feels like they’re pushing stydia so hard that they’re neglecting the progress she made. Its almost like her time in Eichen didn’t affect her character at all. You’d think getting a hole drilled into your head would be at least traumatizing, and what about what the dread doctors did to her on the surgical table are we suppose to forget that even happened? So far I’m not very impressed with season 6 and i feel… Read more »

Why is Crystal Reed mentioned as a cast member? If you are going to mention past cast what about Colton Haynes, Daniel Sharman, Tyler Hoechlin, Max and Charlie Carver, Arden Cho, Matthew Del Negro, Jill Wagner, Michael Hogan, Gideon Emery, Sinqua Walls, Gage Golightly, Adam Fristoe, Stephen Ford to name but a few of this series revolving door cast!

They shouldn’t have even bothered with season six. This show was done when Tyler Hoechlin left.
