TV show description:
Patrick Jane (Simon Baker), a consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), pays attention to the details. As he stands at a crime scene, he shifts his gaze over the particulars that others often miss and mentally sorts through the information. His surveillance skills have repeatedly helped the CBI solve serious crimes.
He’s well known within the organization for his observation skills, as well as his past scam work when he pretended to be a psychic medium. What his fellow agents don’t know is that Patrick’s intense dedication to solving crimes stems from the losses he’s suffered in his personal life.
Patrick’s crime-solving methods are unconventional to be sure and Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) is opposed to him joining her unit. It’s not always easy for her to admit when Patrick is right but she’s always quick to criticize when he crosses the line.
The other members of her team include Kimball Cho (Tim Kang), Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), and rookie Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti). They’re all united in their opinion of Patrick. While he is reckless, Patrick is both dedicated and skilled at solving cases. The proof is in the details.

Lisbon and Jane decide to get married but a killer named Lazarus is bent on revenge and tries to take their happy ending. He’s ultimately arrested and the lovebirds get to enjoy their special day with friends and family in attendance.

I enjoy this program and am very sad that Your T V is no longer with us, so I will not be able to see it any more. I like its zsny style and plot twists, good that the author is British, hence the quality.
Very sorry to see the end of this excellent show, but Red John was dead, Patrick and Lisbon are together, as are Grace and Rigsby. The ending was great better than most other shows endings (I.e. Castle!!!). So I can live with reruns forever. … Although a movie would be neat.
Mentalist was my no. 1 all time favorite TV show until the last season, I mean what the hell is that you build up a character like ‘Red John’ then give a such dull ending, completely destroyed the entire TV show at that point and rest of the episode was absolutely meaningless after that. I am extremely disappointed. Not cool!!!

I don’t think mentalist should have been canceled I don’t find many series I like but mentalist is one of my favorite please bring it back
Sadly, I agree we all must stop being so upset with losing The Mentalist. A movie or spin off with Jane and Lisbon and a baby would be awesome!
They put on stupid, silly shows that adults wouldn’t watch and one year series that are done! They will never learn that good shows with a great cast is so appreciated.
I do hope to see some kind of Mentalist revival soon!
I agree that most of what is on network TV is garbage. I basically watch Judge Judy and three other shows and that’s it. I have no use for Survivor, Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars and the other drivel. I watch Netflix 99% of the time. I miss Simon Baker and that million dollar smile, too. Hope he lands another series on another network.
I miss The Mentalist, too. Great show. But this far into the equation, all we can hope for is maybe a TV movie. They are not bringing the series back. The actors all have other gigs by now. The sets have been dismantled. I agree, a TV movie or two with Jane and Lisbon as parents would be great. But stop commenting on the series; it’s history, unfortunately for all of us who are fans.
So miss this show – never been so intriguing and clever. Why cancelled??? Do Something!!!
What, pray tell, do you expect us to do other than what we are doing, which is voice disapproval over cancellation.
My cousins, family and friends were intrigued by Janes discoveries and detailed clues as they unfolded. Thats what kept us interested and we all looked forward to seeing what would happen each week. We were sorry the series was not renewed for another season. Some of the shows now are so gory and evil that they aren’t worth turning on. I really enjoy mysteries which challenge my thinking. I always enjoyed Simons smile as he was coming to a conclusion. It was a very entertaining show.
Should not have ended. So miss that show! All the sports we don’t watch knocked out the great ratings. Should have stayed on Thursdays. Games on my Mentalist slot!! Copycat shows and stupids with monkey brain shows. Can’t stand them! I speak cow my entire adult family.
New to watching some reruns. Sorry to hear it’s ending but have pass seasons to catch up on.

How many times must fans of the best ever t.v. show have to beg to bring it back!!! Won’t a network listen to a smart bunch of people and pick it up again???
I wish they would stop catering to teenagers and others that prefer brainless shows!
For me, a very well cast, and acted, and written, well unified arc, with a sensible development from the beginning, always staying on track with no foolish inconsistent side trips, wrapping up at the right time in the right way. Like a well written novel with an intriguing beginning, an attention holding progressive development, and a satisfying conclusion.
Please RENEW! Go to season 8. With Patrick and Theresa with a new stage. Patrick Dad again……
