There was some uproar about ABC’s new family comedy, The Real O’Neals, months before the TV show even premiered. Could this controversy end up helping the series attract big ratings or will it keep people away? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
A single-camera sitcom, The Real O’Neals revolves around an Irish Catholic family that seems to be living an idyllic life. After the middle son comes out of the closet, the rest of the family members come clean with their own secrets and start to live their lives more authentically. The show stars Martha Plimpton, Jay R. Ferguson, Noah Galvin, Mathew Shively, Bebe Wood, and Mary Hollis Inboden.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

What do you think? Do you like The Real O’Neals TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for second season?
Please all of you, stop watching this show. It is very inappropriate and offensive. As a christian, I see things attacking my religion, and the religion of millions of others, everyday and I am tired of it. Please stop watching this hateful, offensive, and vulgar show.
Greg, there’s nothing hateful, offensive or vulgar about the show. Does it make fun of Christians, of course it does, so what? Gays, Blacks and other groups have been made fun of on TV and film for decades. Funny how all of sudden it’s an issue because it’s Christians who are the punchline, go figure. You’re being incredibly disingenuous and more than a little cowardly. For 2000 years, Christians have been attacking my people and continue to do so. Frankly, I think a little Karmic humor at your expense is the least you and your religion can tolerate to atone… Read more »
Please all of you, don’t watch this show. It is extremely offensive.
Quite frankly, this is the worst, most offensive garbage I’ve ever seen on TV. It has NO chance of making it. It’s dreadful. NEVER watching this again.
Thank you so much. Now please spread the word so this gets cancelled.
Great show with great actors! Hope it gets renewed!
Love this show! It is well acted, very funny and adorable!!!! PLEASE KEEP WATCHING AND IF YOU HAVE NOT YET YOU SHOULD!!!!!!!
All of you, please stop watching this. We can’t let it pollute more people. I’m disappointed that 3.747 million people would watch this show. Stop watching this.
Change the channel if you don’t like it.
To all of you who watch this, please stop. It is attacking my religion and the religion of millions of others. Please stop watching it. Even if you aren’t a christian you should stop watching this show.
Please stop leaving these comments and let other people form their own opinions. I am Christian but I still enjoy this show and how it explores the way twenty-first century issues can affect the faith of a Christian family.
I don’t mean to sound rude, but how can you watch a show attacking your own religion?
How can you support a religion where the church covered up thousands of rapes of young children? What is worst? Making fun of someones religion or a religion whose leaders covered up molestation of children? I will wait for a response…
It was one division of the church. Not the entire Catholic church. Catholics do some things wrong, we all do, but they are good people.
It is many, many, many, many, many priests worldwide within the church. I have yet to see much change on how these crimes are handled with the church.
One division….not true! You shouldn’t lie, your faith should have taught you that.
Christian Extremist?
wow.how low can it go? dead show walking
LOVE THIS SHOW! It isn’t attacking any religion, it’s showing the reality of how religious parents react to change. Trust me, I know! Hope this show gets renewed for a 2nd season.
All of you who watch this need to stop now. It will pollute your mind. Stop watching it so it gets cancelled. This show is vulgar and is attacking christianity. Stop watching this please!
Funny well written show. Now I have something to watch when Mike and Molly ends. The homophobes will tell you not to bother but I encourage you to find the Pilot episode on demand and decide for yourself.
Wow, I knew that the ratings would go down for the newest episode but I didn’t expect them to drop that much. I’m so glad that so many people have stopped watching this show already. To all of you who do watch this, stop watching it.
This show is hilarious. Hopefully it’ll stick around.
This is the reason I don’t watch TV! Whoever came up with this needs to seek and find Jesus! You need help!
Well, at least the amount of viewers declined between the two episodes. But the demo rose up when it should have gone down a lot. Please, all of you who watch this show, please stop watching it.
To all of you who haven’t seen this show but plan on it, don’t watch it. To all of you who do watch this show, STOP!
I had no idea it was on Tuesdays and was looking forward to watching it tonight! I love the show and hope more people realize it’s not on Wednesdays.
Please just stop. I think it’s a GREAT show. 5 comments dedicated to telling people no to watch it because it offends you? Not everyone is as easily offended as you are. Let others form their OWN opinion.
