It seems that ABC has lost their appetite for The Taste. The network has cancelled the series and ruled out prospects for a fourth season.
The Taste is a culinary competition that pits professional and amateur cooks against one another in weekly challenges. The returning judges/mentors are Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre, and Marcus Samuelsson.
A very moderate performer for the network, the first season aired in early 2013 and averaged a 1.55 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.51 million viewers. The network brought it back a year later and the ratings got much worse, averaging a 1.05 in the demo with 3.69 million.
Still, ABC execs decided to give it another chance and aired the third season over the winter holiday season, in December and January. The ratings were even worse and fell to an average of a 0.82 demo rating with 3.13 million.
Apparently those numbers were just too low to justify a fourth season of The Taste so they’ve cancelled it. The final episode aired on January 22nd.

Yes please bring the taste back…great show! Perhaps fall season would work out best…dancing with the stars is getting old and the bachelor/bachelorette are too trashy…people love new food and ideas give in chance in the right slot

My family loved The Taste show from every season. We think it was the best cooking show by far! Please put it back on ABC!
The Taste really was the best cooking show I’ve ever seen. Hope ABC knows what a wrong decision they made. Really sad ;(.

I am so disappointed to learn that “The Taste” was cancelled. I really enjoyed the show — not big on the screaming lunatic Ludo but I enjoyed it and was looking forward to another season. It’s sad that garbage like “Celebrity Wife Swap” is on for another season. I’d rather turn the TV off than watch that!
I love the Taste very sorry to see it canceled was so looking forward to it. So not happy ABC caneled it..I hope someone picks it up and I don’t miss it..
They are crazy! The Taste was the most interesting show I’ve seen out of all the cooking shows. What a loss.

I really hope Netflick will pick up this show. It is one of my wife’s and my favorite shows.
Loved the taste. Reason I no longer have cable – quality fun shows don’t make it. Just trash!!! Sad:(
