Under the Dome revolves around residents of Chester’s Mill in Maine after a large transparent dome cuts them off from the world. Those on the inside have to work to survive with limited resources and rising tension. The large cast includes Kylie Bunbury, Eddie Cahill, Colin Ford, Aisha Hinds, Alexander Koch, Rachelle Lefevre, Mackenzie Lintz, Dean Norris, and Mike Vogel.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. 8/31 update: CBS has decided to end Under the Dome with the third season.
Final season averages: 0.96 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.70 million total viewers.

The finale was the only episode I watched in season 3. It was one episode too many.
I just found out that Under the Dome is cancelled. I’m completely shocked! How can this be??? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, someone pick it up.
Oh thank god! The first season was good but after that it was garbage. They ran out of material so they made up, borrow ideas from different show ( ex: “LOST” ). It’s right decision to cancel the show while it still has some dignity left. It was supposed to be one season what the heck are the complains all the about. It had ran extra miles already.
I say this every time…Why do I get suckered into watching these show’s when the ABC networks always cancel them too soon? It’s annoying, and the networks seem to never get gratified. I think they need therapy, because none of us want to be in this relationship anymore. I think this upcoming year, I’ll watch even more of the cable networks. Still loving Supernatural and Major Crimes.
Ann…Under the Dome was on CBS, not ABC. But you are correct in saying that the networks cancel good shows too fast. I hate getting really into a story, only to have the program dropped before an adequate ending is provided. But TV shows, like life, are a gamble. You win some, you lose some…
I read that CBS stations were blacked out for three weeks in the San Diego area on directv. This will affect viewer ratings as people will not even bother watching tv shows online either.
I think Under The Dome should be renewed for the 4th season. I love the show and to end it after only 3 seasons is unfair to us loyal watchers. If they must cancel the show at least have a season 4 with an ending to the Chester Mills saga. I am tired of finding a show I enjoy and then after a season or 2 gets cancelled with no ending. I am tired of being left hanging to wonder what happened.
I think under the dome should be renewed for fourth season simply because they had the numbers the first season and have the numbers and second I don’t know what people were thinking of the third season but it Was freaking amazing and i thing we need to know what happens after they get out this show i really liked
I watched the first 2 seasons and liked the show a lot! With that said I was very disappointed in seasons three so I watched it occasionally! The writing went DOWN hill faster than the DOME! The only thing that was HURT was the RESUMES of the GOOD ACTORS this show featured! Sorry the show took a turn for the worst but it’s the fault of the writers!
Hard to believe they cancelled this show! Oh wait, it’s the idiots in their white ivory towers making the decision.

I love the Dome but they need to change the it’s been 3 weeks since dome came down on the intro. There is no way all that could happen in 3 weeks. I would love to see it come back for another season. But if the ratings don’t let it, then at least end it and don’t just leave it hanging. I did a little research to fill in the HOLES in this show as i lost track of WHAT the Dome was DROPPED for, i.e. hatching a Monarch to be crowned, global warming, toxic chemicals, corporate corruption, hoarding propane, cooking drugs, watching people under stress, residents trying to get out, residents trying to get back in, the government trying to get in, the gov’t trying to take down the dome, finding lost loved ones, killing people, killing people, killing people, oh and did I say killing people? At first this show really grabbed me but after season 2 it only gets worse and worse as if the writers are tired of it and have no idea where and how it should lead to something. Pls end it in a nice way and stop our suffering …
The show should be cancelled, I always thought the writing and acting were lacking but was hoping it would get better with experience as some other shows have in the past. The issue is it got worse, the acting never got any better and the writing is ridiculously poor. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it cancelled soon.
